Silva has to avoid this guy getting the fight to the ground and trying to make it into a Bjj match. BJ should have a Sean Sherk or Joe Stevenson type of win, I think Renzo my surprise Huges standing and he should be find on the ground against Huges... Renzo wins Royce is avenged.

  2. well i think that this issue has layers one it show that the UFC's power hungry methods has done this elite fighter a dis-service and they may need to out source for this weight class and some other elite fighter in. 2nd to quote Malcolm "it's a case of the chickens coming home to roost" One of the best kept secrets in the fight world is the discrimination because of race and class in Brazil's vast tapestry of color, hue and culture, yet many whom are considered to be be black or very poor have been mis-treated in the supposedly mutual meeting place of the canvas, mat, cage or ring. Well Silva is leaving proof who has through articles and interviews has shared some tid- bits that would suggest that some of his (NOT ALL!) countrymen feel superior and perhaps this class of guy should not hold the crown. It has been reported that Silva was taunting his last opponent as if he was responding to perhaps some early derogatory statements directed at him that were racially insensitive.

1)ccording to an article in Fight! Magazine, Silva’s poverty stricken mother left him and his older brother with her sister’s family in Curitiba, Brazil when he was only four years old. Silva’s aunt and uncle, therefore, found themselves supporting five children on a police officer’s salary.
    Early Martial Arts Training:

Silva's family was unable to afford expensive lessons in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu early on. “When I started out, Jiu-Jitsu was really an elite thing in Brazil, and there was some prejudice towards poorer kids, so I had to learn things on my own,” he told Fight! Magazine. “Some of my neighbors started doing Jiu-Jitsu, so I started watching it, and then started rolling with them. It wasn’t organized training, but it was better than nothing.”
Despite this, Silva's supportive family did find the money to pay for Tae Kwon Do lessons (age 12). Silva then moved onto Capoeira before settling on Muay Thai by the age of 16.
    2) "Bate na minha cara playboy" (“Come on, hit me in the face playboy.")

Odd as it sounds, ‘playboy’ is a serious insult in Brazil when levelled at certain targets. The stark class and economic divides in Brazil make for a wide gulf in status between the rich and poor. In Brazilian terms, a playboy is a hedonist rich kid, the product of a pampered upbringing who cares little for the poor and knows nothing of real life.

Anderson is also said to have cried out "Cade o Jiu-Jitsu?" ("Where is your Jiu-Jitsu?”) as Maia failed to get him to the floor, and also told him “Get up off your ass and get hit some more” when Maia dropped to his back looking to play guard.

According to the general tone on the major Brazilian MMA forums right now, Anderson has surprised and upset many of his fans with his comments. Maia told Fighters Only yesterday that Anderson had sworn at him during the fight but declined to go into detail about what was said.

This is not an accuse but at least some insight of what could have been the motivation behind his frustration
